Privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-07-11
AutoLawn UK ("we") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect and why, in plain English, in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4 (loaded via Google Tag Manager) to see which pages are read and how the site performs. These are optional analytics cookies. We use Google Consent Mode v2 with analytics and advertising storage set to denied by default, so no analytics cookies are set until you click "Accept analytics" on our cookie banner. If you accept, Google may process usage data (including a truncated/approximate IP and a randomly generated identifier) to produce aggregated reports; we never see individual visitors' identities. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
- Newsletter: if you subscribe, your email address is sent directly from our server to MailerLite Limited (mailerlite.com), our email service provider, which stores it and sends the monthly update on our behalf. MailerLite acts as our data processor for this purpose; AutoLawn UK remains the controller. Information collected: your email address only — the form does not ask for your name or any other detail. Purpose: sending the monthly AutoLawn UK update (current UK prices, notable promotions, new releases and updated recommendations) — nothing else, no data is sold or shared for advertising. Confirmation: depending on our current MailerLite settings, you may need to confirm your subscription via a confirmation email before receiving updates (double opt-in) — this is stated on MailerLite's own signup confirmation if it applies. Unsubscribing: every email includes an unsubscribe link; clicking it removes you immediately, no need to contact us. Retention: we keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed, plus a short period after unsubscribing to honour suppression (so we don't accidentally re-add you) — MailerLite's own retention practices are described in their privacy policy. International processing: MailerLite may process and store data outside the UK/EEA under their own safeguards (their privacy policy has details); this is a standard arrangement for email service providers and is not something AutoLawn UK controls directly. Your rights: as well as unsubscribing, you can ask us to delete your subscriber record entirely via the contact page. This section is a plain-English summary, not formal legal advice — if you have specific legal concerns about how your data is processed, we'd recommend seeking independent advice.
- Contact: if you email us, we keep the correspondence only as long as needed to reply.
Cookies and consent
Strictly necessary cookies (and equivalent storage) that make the site work are always active — this includes remembering your cookie choice itself. Optional analytics cookies are only set after you accept them on our banner, in line with UK PECR and UK GDPR. Rejecting them leaves the site fully functional; you simply won't be counted in our analytics. To review or change your decision, use "Cookie settings" in the footer.
Advertising
We do not currently run display advertising, and no advertising cookies are set. Consent Mode already defaults advertising storage to denied. If we introduce advertising in future (for example Google AdSense), it will be added to the same consent banner and this policy will be updated to name the partners involved before any advertising cookies are set.
Affiliate links and third parties
When you click an affiliate link, the destination retailer (e.g. Amazon UK, Segway Navimow) may set cookies to attribute the sale. Those cookies are governed by the retailer's own privacy policy — we never see your personal purchase details, only anonymous, aggregated commission reports.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you by contacting us. You can complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) if you're unhappy with our response.
Controller
AutoLawn UK is operated by an independent UK publisher. For any data request, contact us via the contact page and we'll respond within one calendar month as UK GDPR requires.
